Snoop Dogg did a rather disturbing interview today when they asked him why he can say "hos" and whatnot in his songs, and his response is because he's grown up in tough neighborhoods so it's ok that he says that. Double standard.

My whole point of the debate is not to defend Imus, but to put it across that the Rutgers girls team and any African American woman should look at their own people before they start playing the racist/sexist card on other people. Just look at any rapper, they use the words like it's nothing, and in the music videos the women are portrayed as objects. Yet we don't see African Americans or Al Sharpton protesting them, they have those rappers on their iPod.

Truth is, Imus said an apology and that was more than enough. The fight between blacks and whites has been around since the beginning of time and isn't going anywhere soon. It's sad but true. But it's situations like these where people backlash against each other that feeds it rather than heals it.

I'll stop by NBC tomorrow after class and say a prayer for Imus.
