[quote="mR.cLeAn":847fa]its all an agenda hollywood can get by saying shit against jews like in borat - but news radio is shut down for this?[/quote:847fa]
that's different, Borat is played by a jew. If you use a stereotype about a group, it's ok as long as you are a member of that group (apparently)
And Tripper, I'm not sure if I'm buying this stuff about slavery and all that. Slavery happened and it was bad but why should we treat people differently because of what happened in the past? Where do the "playing field levelers" end?
The solution to inequality is not inequality. Gandhi made a good point about ends and means that I just learned about in one of my classes. He said that the means should be the ends (speaking of nonviolence), meaning if the ends were peace, the means had to be peaceful (nonviolent). I think that this can be applied here as well, if the end goal is equality, then equality should be the means to achieve it. We can't keep distinguishing groups based on who is allowed to say what and what is acceptable and what isn't and who gets affirmative action or preferential treatment because of skin color. (I'll bet the Gandhi stuff sounds pretentious, but I'm only including it because I just heard about it and I think it's relevant to this issue)
