Plasmas are better in 2 areas, no pixels so no dead ones obviously, and they display black better than lcd's. They usually are more expensive if you want a 1080p compatible screen, the price premium going from 42" to 50" is usually pretty hefty as well.

and with the dead pixels isnt it something like if it has no dead pixels by the first month then you will never get on?
i use to want a huge dlp, but a friend of mine had so many issuse with them
