1066 ram just gives you some overhead for overclocking so its probably worthwhile.
9800 is supposed to be around november sometime but its not been confirmed, just the usual "net info" thats going on. Possible it wont be here till feb, which rules out the evga stepup as its 90 days from time of purchase.
Penryn is also due late this year which is "true" quad core on 45nm so meant to run a lot cooler, might be worthwhile waiting a bit if you cna hold on for that long.
