Very true, aircooling these days normally means some kind of extreme retardedly sized slab of aluminium or copper inside the case. The stock coolers intel and amd provide aren't worth a fuck so a third party cooler is needed which just adds to the cost.
I always though technology was meant to get smaller require less power and run cooler, so far amd and intel are doing a good job of proving that wrong.
