 I'm sure a majority of it has to deal with the network that APPLE wanted to use.  With the SIM-Unlock service being offered, I'm sure its a matter of time before DIY SIM-Unlock kits are out there for end-user purchase; sadly that means you still will only be able to use it on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, but for many that's enough.  T-Mobile's prepair service is infinitely better than AT&T so once some lucky guy gets ahold of the unlock software, I'll be grabbing an affordable iPhone to use on T's service. |
