I just built an AMD system with an Asus board. It has worked flawlessly so far. Good features, etc. They make quality boards,but so does soyo. If you dont have to have the top of the line mobo, you can get an Asus pretty reasonably. Also, if you arent going to get DDR ram, there is no reason to spend big on the mobo. I would get at least a 266fsb mobo with 512 DDR2700. That, with the xp1800 will be a huge jump over the machine you are using now. You will definately need to upgrade your vid card too - there are some very good cards in the <$100 range right now. I would guess that your current vid card is onboard, if so you will have to buy one regardless.
