52.1 and 50.6 respectively @ 1280x1024 32bit color (both color settings) and every other setting as high as it would go. (at the moment the screenshot was taken)
As you can see both pictures are taken from the exact same perspective, so all things being equal it is fairly safe to assume that a 4% hit in FPS might result. Then again since FPS fluxuates to a degree, the FPS drop could be simple coincedence. I imagine the FPS hit would be even lower %-wise the lower the resolution although I have not confirmed this.
I think the end of the road (german sniping house) looks far more realistic without the fog. I mean after all we're only talking about 200 yards or so figuratively.
