I've been looking for one (or more) for quite some time (since reading some of George Millar's books).

I'm talking about the British 'Long Range Desert Group' here, with their long, rugged beards, short trousers and arab-like headwear (they didn't all look like this, but this outlines the typical patrolman).

They were mainly recon patrols, but they also saw some light artillery and infantry action in North Africa (i believe) and cooperated with the SAS on some commando raids.
