I’ve seen it many times, both the movie and the television series.
It is a damn good movie, directed by Wolfgang Peterson who also directed “Airforce one” (Not so good)and “The Perfect storm”. U 571 is more like an action movie. Das Boot is booth action and drama, with a frightening claustrophobia environment. Most of the scenes inside the sub are shoot by a handheld camera. Not Stedicam. That makes you believe that you are one of the crew. You’re a part of the drama. I think it’s better than U571.
