Well, Microsoft finally developed the patch for Service Pack 1 users. This news is actually kinda old, but I wasn't aware of it until now:
 [quote:360aa]327979: Recommended Update
 Download size: 862 KB, < 1 minute
This update addresses the "Game Stops Responding (Hangs) or Quits Unexpectedly When Introductory Video Clip Is Played" issue in Windows XP, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article 327979. Download now to prevent your computer from not responding during video playback.[/quote:360aa]

Basically, this is the cure to the hiccup in Service Pack 1 that prevents you from playing smoothly in OpenGL games, and also the problems with OpenGL video. If you have Windows XP, get it from Windows Update.

I for one will get any updates from Microsoft. The damn thing kept giving me problems installing MOHAA, and Spearhead, so i aint taking a risk. As of now my XP Pro is running find, screw those "critical updates". I can live without them.
Unless someone knows for sure why MOHAA and Spearhead would give this little grey box saying "catastrophic failure" and then stop installing at around 55-70%. I had to reformat twice to finally get that i should just install the games first, and dont download anything right after a fresh install.

Not my fault you fux0red your BIOS. Besides, you're using WinXP with FAT32 partitioning. Call me when your PC blows up, heh

You should just convert to NTFS. It's basically like reaching Nirvana for Bhudda. oOo: |

Using FAT32 with XP Pro is like using plastic wrap for a condom, it probaly won't work right and isn't very safe. biggrin: |

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with FAT32, it's just that NTFS is better. Just as there's nothing wrong with a Pentium II, just that a P4 is better. |
