Riding into the sunset -
08-17-2003, 08:43 AM
Like many others, I have decided to leave this place permantently. This website (and the game) has consumed over one and a half years of my life, and I think it would be to my advantage if I quit using the Internet for a while. On top of that I feel that ever since the original moderators (at least the originals when I first joined up, which would be Dodd, Polaris, Rudedog, Recycled Spooge) left this place it has been going downhill. Even now that Bazooka_Joe and Zoner are gone I feel that this site is now run by people who don't really know who they are doing, with the exception of ED and Solidus.
You don't like those comments? I'm sorry about that. I don't mean for my last post here to be a flaming one. Now that I have stated my reasons for leaving, let me say that the people here were cool and made for a fun summer of 2002. This was my first forum, and may be my last that I regularly post in, and if it is then I picked damn near the best one out there. Sure the site and forums are slow and glitchy, and many of you hate this place now, but there's no denying what it used to be, and that is greatness. The ones who are attempting to restore it back, well I hate to tell you it can't be done. Returning a forum back to greatness isn't a matter of work, it's a matter of the people, the attitude of the people, and the history of the forums. We'd all like to see Dodd and Polaris come back, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Either way a forum's greatness depends on character, not entirely hard work.
There have been many hilarious and great threads here since I joined (and browsed the forums back in 2001). I enjoyed it a lot guys. Thanks.
