So the fx line is the new name for the 64's? For a while i assumed fx and 64 were two different cpu's oOo: . Whats the big difference between socket 939 and 940?

The FX and A64 are seperate lines on the same socket. The FX is to A64 what the EE is to E/C of the Pentium 4s. Similar products that are way over priced and just have more cache.
S939 took over S940. s939 adds the ability to do dual channel and removes the need for registered RAM. s940 is still used for servers and Opterons but the FX, which are just modified Opterons, use s939.
