i feel so awful right now

i've just split up with my girlfriend and she couldn't stop crying on the phone......the reasons were right for breaking up and she totally understands but.......I really, really hate hearing people I care about cry

any post breakup tips, songs or advice?

i'm pretty fragile right now

honestly, there isnt that much you can do, except telling yourself that you did it for yourself, and that you did what makes you happy. no one wants to be in a relationship where one person doesnt feel the same way, so its for the best.

but whatever you do, DONT give her a shred of hope of getting back together. i dont mean that in a mean way, but if you do, it will just make her feel worse.

do something that requires energy, go running, or biking, or maybe pickup a new hobby with your free time. IT will make you feel a thousand times better.

Its just the fact we were good friends before we got into the relationship that makes it that little bit tougher to get out of our systems but we knew of that risk all along..
It'll be hard at first but we're going to remain great friends no matter what happens.

I've been proud of the fact I've never fallen out with any exes in the past, I've always stayed in touch and theres never been any unresolved bad feeling.

I think you're right sniper, I need to do something kinda creative. I may even make a daft video or something, made one recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccjp6Ps2b7M so maybe I should make more, get my mind off stuff

stay busy and make sure she understands why you left and that you dont want to be with her in a relationship. the ony thing you can do is move on and stay preoccupied with something else. why did you break up with her?

Im with ya with the falling out thing...i don't like the idea of hating each other after a relationship...

...plus it leaves a chance for something quick and nothing to do witha relationship in the future because ya are already comfortable with each other.

Though it seems my luck always comes with the only way to do anything about the girls i meet is homewreck.

Going out and doing things may give you a boost but.....sometimes quiet times are what's needed. Thinking of her is part of the natural healing process. Don't try to "forget" about her...instead, focus on the good memories you two made together and chalk it up as history. Your life is one big history with lots of good memories. She's just a small part of your history.

I suppose I'm looking for longer term relationships at my age now and I couldn't our r'ship progressing much further. Shes also about 5 years younger than me and that proved to be an issue for me, shes a fantastic girl, we never argued or anything...........its just I'd just end up hurting her more if we'd just carried on going out.

I have literally no energy in my body now, this has been exhausting to say the least tonight, my head is spinning
