Default ping gets worst over time playing on a LAN - 10-08-2002, 06:33 PM

What could cause my ping to go from 50 or so to 999 after about 5-10min of play with another player on my home network in my house? When I host and he joins it does the same thing as if he creates the game and I join it. We are using cat 5 network cable, linksys 10/100 network cards and microsoft networking. I have a cable modem with cable service from ATT and a linksys 5 port highspeed hub. anybody have an insight can post here and Ill check back or email me at coursonc@attbi.com

Welcome to the forums!

Well, I myself haven't had issues playing this game over a 10/100 LAN, ping sat at about 50 with 4 players. First off, make sure you are using the V1.11 patch to play. I doubt this is the reason, but it will fix many issues if you do not have it.

Now, it sounds like this may be a packetloss issue, your hub/network card is dropping your connection to one another for some reason. I would doublecheck to see if it was MOH doing this, or all games. Try to play other games through the LAN and see if it has the same result.
