Default Map compatibility with Xpack? - 10-08-2002, 12:12 AM

havent played any other online games where you get updates/patches (note: still havent if i count mohaa hmmm) so im not real sure if this is a dumb question or not.

have scrapped my 4th map idea and actually considering making a complete one. am also going to put in a bit of effort to deter glitching and spawn camping.

one thing that shits me which i wont be able to get away from is the ladder glitch that results in "land sharking". now even if EA do scare me half to death and put a fix for this in a patch this millenium i dont really know if this will fix it for my map.

does anybody know if a fix like this will just work without there needing to be any changes to the maps... sorta like how the server/client interpret the actions that result in these glitches ......or...... is it more likely to be a fix that alters the map so that the ladder brush/property that is in the map itself is altered to not allow this.

too brainy for me.... any ideas?
or to put it another way..... if this shit is patched will all current custom maps be uncompatible with the updated server or still carry the glitch?

ps. this is the coolest clan website ever in my sig biggrin:
