Default Problems in WinXP - 10-26-2002, 11:10 PM

I can't get MoH:AA to run in Windows XP. I get the splash screen and then I kicks me to the desktop. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have an Athlon XP 1800+, 256MB DDR RAM, and a GeForce 2 MX 32MB AGP Vid Card. I have installed the 1.11 patch.

old vid card bud.

Make sure you have the most recent video card drivers for it. Also you may want to consider re installing the game. Some history owuld be good too, have you been able to irun the game before?

Get the lastest drivers for sure but I had a similar situation with my geforce 2 in which I had to enable or disable the irq for vga in the bios. I cant remember exactly as it was so long ago.

Also check your directX version. Get the latest if you don't already have it

I have the newest Nvidia drivers and DirectX 8.1. And it still won't work.

Also I just bought the game the other day.

Are you using XP or XP Pro?
I use XP Pro and have never had any problems.

You can try a few things here:

1) Have you ever played the demo?
2) Are you sure you installed the correct drivers?
3) Try running Auto-Config in the MOH folder.

That's about all the suggestions I can give now. You might want to check your monitor refresh rates too, try to keep them above 65, and below 120.

No, I haven't played the demo. I have the correct drivers for my vid card. And I have ran the MoH Auto-Config prog multiple times.

My monitor only supports a refresh rate of 60. Anyways I don't think that would have any effect on the game software.

I think it would, as the minimum display property is 800X600 @ 65mhz. I don't think your monitor supports the refresh rates needed. PS: If you run this game with a GF2, you will die a slow death of BAD FRAMES! Upgrade to a RADEON or GF4, man. and NOT MX!

Had I the money to buy me a new vid card, I would, but I don't. And all of my other games run with at least 65-70 FPS. (Quake3, Half-Life, Warcraft 3)

Do you have support pack 1 for XP loaded? It fixed video issues with Nvida cards. M16:
