10-30-2002, 07:18 PM
Yup, gonna see TOOL for the 1st time on Halloween. Should be a great concert....been waiting to see them for sometime now. I haven't been to a concert in a few years....i think the last one was RUSH at the beach.
Anyone see TOOL yet? If so, how were they? I'll let the crowd know how it went on Friday.

I was at a concert and the following week tool was going to play. They were handing out little cards with the info on it. Not a big too fan so I didn't go. This was only about a month ago. Actually exactly a month ago so tool would haev been here 3 weeks ago. Very interesting. Great story, eh?

Ok, just got back from the TOOL concert awhile ago. They kicked ass !! They had some bullshit band open for them but the atmosphere changed when they took the stage. They started the night with Stinkfist and played Schism, Parabol, Third Eye, The Grunge, Disposition, Triad, Reflection, and closed with Lateralis. Although all of the songs sounded great, Parabol was tops!! They ROCKED with that one. Maynard stayed on a small circular stage near the back left side of the main stage the whole night. The lights pretty much were off him so you basically saw a silhouette of him. The two guitarists (Chancellor and Jones) were at the front of the stage on opposite sides and Cary (drummer) was opposite Maynard at the right rear part of the stage. They had videos playing the whole time on big screens suspended from the ceiling on both sides of the stage. All in all, they put on a great show and it was worth my $$$.

I'm glad i finally got a chance to see them since they're my fav band and they don't come around often. If you guys like TOOL, get a chance to see them if they come to your area. You won't be disappointed.

I saw 'em last year in Barrie and I was left speechless. I couldn't believe how tight the band was live. They pulled off every nuance from the studio recordings, which is quite a feat when you play the technically intricate music that Tool plays.
I thought Maynard's stage position on that platform was cool for a while, but I wished he came to the front at least ONCE!
