It's pretty good
I like that huge barrel stack

There are a few brush problems though near the vents

Default err.... - 11-17-2002, 09:51 AM

Hi,

First of all: good job making your own map.
But to be honest with you: I think your map will not be played so much. I found many overlapping textures and the level is too small to play if you ask me. I also found a concrete stair which was flying above the ground. Just place it a bit lower. I also found a few pipes you made. Make sure you texture them well!!!, cause it looks a bit strange now.I did like the barrels fire1: vey much!
So keep up making maps, but just make them bigger..with more details....and make sure not to overlap any textures....

I also want you to know that i DO NOT want to look like an ass...i just gave my opinion...

Greetz,

Rakavolver

Default Thankyou - 11-17-2002, 11:07 AM

First of all: Thanks for your honesty.

The reason why it was made small as it was mostly experimental but actually turned out to be good for all out attacking.

Im intending to build something around it, and have it incorperated into a bigger map but at the moment im also trying other things with different maps But I will try and eliminate those overlapping texures. I agree the pipe texture isnt fantastic those are only there as you can get a good vantage point by jumping onto them.

I am quite proud of it though as it's my first (So hopefully ill keep adding to it - There is an objective version in the works so maybe ill make it bigger for that)

Again thanks for your Honesty

Regards

Shifty

Default hi again! - 11-17-2002, 11:43 AM

yooow,

Thank you for taking my critics so easily! I was affraid I looked like a dork. Since it is your first map: YES BE PROUD OF IT!!!! Hell yeah i would be too. I am working on my first map too..hopefully it will be ready in February :P

I really think your map can turn out great. Expand it....that should be enough! About the pipes then: indeed those are great to hide on! To improve the textures....just select them...hit ´s´....and then try to change the vertical and horizontal scale...or just rotate it! You can also try the ´natural´button after hitting ´s´.

For now: KEEP IT UP!!! cool:

C ya,

Greetz, Rakavolver

Default okay - 11-18-2002, 03:51 AM

HI!!!!,

So you found the floating stair?? good! Ok about the ´natural´ button then: if you select your pipes.....hit ´s´. A menu will pop up. Now search a button named: ´natural´ Hit that and the texture might be okay without scaling it yourself.
Project 2 will be big enough! I checked your site (again cool: ) and im really interested in the way you will make the level zooka: I do think it is a bit weird that you are working on 3 projects at the same time!!!!! I wouldn´t be able to do that oOo:
Well good luck m8 and c ya later.

HI,

My help? Sure ask me anything. If you have MSN....add me (leipieo@hotmail.com) cause that way it is easier to answer questions you have. Uhm....blow up like the flag kanon? Yeah why not? Looks cool enough! Or is your question: how to do that?

c ya
