I've never had that problem personally so I'm not entirely sure. Garry Coleman had a similar problem and posted this on AAN:

Make sure your sound card is configured properly:
1. Go to the control panel and double click on the Multimedia icon.
2. Click on the Audio tab. Change the Playback Preferred Device to <Your Sound Card>.
3. Click on the MIDI tab. Change the highlighted item to either FM Synth, MIDI Synth, or Music Synth (whichever is available).
4. Click on Apply, the OK or Close.

Also, We recommend that you shut down all non-critical background applications in Windows when playing DirectX games. To do this, hold the Ctrl and Alt keys down at the same time and hit the Del key once. This will in turn bring up a window called "close programs". The only two applications that you want listed here before installing the game are "explorer" and "systray". Close all other programs by double-clicking on them. You will need to repeat this process after closing each application.

Note: some applications may take multiple times before closing.

If you're still having the same problems:

You probably need to update the drivers for your sound card. This should be available from the card's manufacturer.

You will need to lower a Hardware Sound Acceleration setting on your computer to "basic". To do this, follow these steps:
1. Enter the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (goto start, then click on run, and type in dxdiag, hit the OK button)
2. Select the sound tab at the top of the tool.
3. Set the Hardware Sound Acceleration Slider to "Basic".

This could be caused by a bad installation.

In these cases a clean install will be desired. You can take the following steps to manually remove the game from your computer, but I must warn you that if these steps are not followed correctly, there is a possibility that your install of windows can become corrupted. If you do not wish to complete these steps yourself, you may call one of our phone reresentatives at 650-628-8468 for help in reinstalling the game.

Make sure that there are no issues running Medal of Honor Allied Assault. If MOHAA also crashes, then you may be in need of a video card driver update. Make sure that all background tasks are ended as well.

You may need a clean uninstallation. To do this:

1) Go to Start -> Program Files -> EA Games -> MOHAA : Spearhead -> run Uninstall MOHAAS
2) Go to Start -> Program Files -> EA Games -> MOHAA -> run Uninstall MOHAA
3) Delete the game folder from the hard drive. By default this will be C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal Of Honor Allied Assault.
For the Medal of Honor Demo: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Demo.
For the Speahead expansion demo: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead Demo
4) Reinstall Medal of Honor Allied Assult
5) Reinstall Medal of Honor Spearhead

If the game does not properly uninstall you can take the following steps to manually remove the game from your computer.

1) Delete the game folder from the hard drive (by default this will be C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA)
By default this will be C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal Of Honor Allied Assault.
The Medal of Honor Demo: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Demo.
The Speahead expansion demo: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead Demo

2) Now open the registry editor. Go to Start -> Run -> type in "regedit" (without the quotes).
3. There is a registry folder that causes this and must be removed. It is found in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\

You must then select and delete the folders named below found in that above location:
Key for MOHAA: {0DEA94ED-915A-4834-A87E-388D012C8E02}
Key for MOHAA - Spearhead: {7914BE1E-F186-4790-B8F4-9F63C52A41C1}
Key for MOHAA - Spearhead Demo: {54B228DC-4B49-4AF7-B3C6-AA612CD14A83}

Delete this folder, then close the registry editor, and reinstall the original game. After installation of the of the Orignal Medal of Honor, proceed with the installation of the Spearhead Expansion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps. Thanks to Garry Coleman for the original post. cool:

4-uks scanner is pretty flawless from what iv heard m8 (appart from it only detecting skins which dont have their names changed, so only a n00b-killer)

I dont see how that could effect the original mods you had installed either.

Hmmm?

I BET f**kin spearhead is at the bottom of this somewhere! lol

i've uninstalled spearhead before i re-installed mohaa, so spearhead isn't the problem. but anyways i found this in my mohaa/main/configs

seta sensitivity "14.000000"
seta s_milesdriver "Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio"
seta s_speaker_type "3"
seta r_gamma "1.400000"
seta r_lastValidRenderer "GeForce4 Ti 4200/AGP/SSE/3DNOW!"
seta s_volume "1.000000"
seta s_musicvolume "1.000000"
seta r_mode "7"
seta s_khz "44"
seta name "CN Spiderm@n"

Notice the bit i have changed to red, why is it showing up as 2d speakers? i have 5.1 surround sound, and my sound card is a sound blaster live pro. my speakers are cambridge aswell.

why is it coming up as 2d audio? can someone help please

That's the sound driver for MOH. It has nothing to do with your speakers. Back in Febuary, when the demo released, someone released a guide of different sound drivers to replace here to enchange the sound, but you need to also download a pack of .DLL's to put in the audio folder in MOH. I'll see what I can dig up on this.

PS: Are you uninstalling it the proper way? You have to clean the registry:

LOL Joe... nothing to say?

I would say run the autodetection thing again and see what it comes up with. If it still comes up the same, try taking a look at your sound drivers. Maybe they were screwed up somehow? If after that you still have the same problem, then try manually editing that line with the correct sound driver.
