I have several Arab friends here in college who are scared to death over this. I'm trying convince them to just relax and see what happens.

Well, my advice is that before we start pointing the hypocritical finger of judgement, let's see what happens with this once it is sorted out. You guys cannot say that your countries would not have done the same thing if you had suffered an attack like 9/11. . .so, let's just relax and observe. eek:

They have issues with this? Their people blow up our buildings and they expect us to just let anyone in the country after that? Screw that man. Screw them, too.

Meh. I agree with gerrard

Now having post that. I say let them stay in your country. Afterall, do you wanna piss off the arabian community more? Hell, if you're willing to bomb their country(ies) into rubble, why don't ou take their sick and poor? Let's not have a double standard. Oh yeah 9/11 was "tragic" but that's what happens when the terrorists feel threatened, you wouldn't see any of this shit happening if Clinton was in office, you know why? because Clinton was not a fucking war monger, and he's just a little tiny bit smarter than Bush.
Your government should really adopt a "if we don't fuck with them, they won't fuck with us" foreign policy, because to be honest with you, everytime you get into a confrontation with a 3rd rate country, the more the rest of the world will despise America. I don't think it can't be helped though, since you Americans are good at war. America was formed from the blood of your ancestors. So, you can almost say that fighting is a genetic thing. Coming from a neutral point of view, terrorism is bad, but so is a nazi-like government. Anyways, I'm just jibbing here, and don't flame me because I like to form an opinion.

Godammit Innoxx, I am beginning to agree with you too much.
Hmmmm, let's look back on history. 1930's, Germany is in the midst of an economic depression. Ahhhh, let's get after the Jews, they are the source of all our problems!!
A little simplistic, maybe, but let me bust out my black uniform and let's get this show on the road. evil:

Here we go with the Nazi comparisons. Not even close people. In the opinions of many, our lax immigration enforcement is what caused 9/11. If these people were not citizens and did not have proper paperwork, they were detained. I don't see any problem with that. When it is sorted out, they will be released. Some of you take this attitude that since America espouses freedom, it should not protect itself. What is the matter with you? Ask any of these people if they would like to go back to their birth nations, and you would hear a resounding "NO!". This is something that needs to be done, because the U.S. has hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals within it's borders illegally, who do not take it upon themselves to do the right thing and come in and say "Listen, my visa is about to expire and I need to find out how to go about remaining in the U.S. legally". So now they have been ordered to. So be it.
The fact that they can openly complain about it shows that they are in a land of freedom. Just my 2 pennies.

Okay Counter-Sniper, why not MEXICANS or others ? Why specifically THESE
people ? I understand your "stay in the middle" attitude, which is what I do
too, but this time it's different and blatantly obvious, too...
EDIT: thought these were appropriate
"In Germany they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was Protestant. Then they came for me - and by that time no one was left to speak up."
-Pastor Martin Nimoller
"If you don't speak out when it matters, when would it matter to speak out?"
