Anyone got a clue on how to bind... -
12-30-2002, 10:58 PM
Hey guys anyone got a clue on how to bind voice commands for squad commands? We use alot of commands in the clan and it would be easier to bind them to a key instead of hitting 3 buttons to get to it, no time for that in game..
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is a .cfg file that's been around for a while.
I copied it from another thread in this forum:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The easiest thing to do is make a text file called custom.cfg in your MOHAA/main directory and it will be executed everytime you start the game.
Then copy-and-paste the following text into it:
***Start Copy***
// CiD'z Voice Skriptz
// instamsg_group_a
alias move_in "say *11"
alias fall_back "say *12"
alias left_flank "say *13"
alias right_flank "say *14"
alias hold_pos "say *15"
alias cover_fire "say *16"
alias regroup "say *17"
// instamsg_group_b
alias cover_me "say *21"
alias cover_you "say *22"
alias follow_me "say *23"
alias take_point "say *24"
alias take_lead "say *25"
alias taking_fire "say *26"
alias charge_cmd "say *27"
alias attack_cmd "say *28"
alias open_fire "say *29"
// instamsg_group_c
alias yes_sir "say *31"
alias no_sir "say *32"
alias enemy_spot "say *33"
alias sniper_spot "say *34"
alias nade_cover "say *35"
alias area_clear "say *36"
alias great_shot "say *37"
alias thanks "say *38"
alias owe_you "say *39"
// instamsg_group_d
alias all_u_got "say *41"
alias out_men "say *42"
alias yellow_belly "say *43"
alias cowards "say *44"
alias target_practice "say *45"
alias come_prepared "say *46"
alias try_again "say *47"
alias shoot_better "say *48"
alias made_mess "say *49"
// instamsg_group_e
alias get_killed "say *51"
alias poor_leader "say *52"
alias good_rid "say *53"
alias get_killed_2 "say *54"
alias get_down "say *55"
alias out_foxhole "say *56"
alias own_hiding "say *57"
alias out_my_way "say *58"
***End Copy***
You can then type in binds below these commands like the following:
bind kp_end "out_my_way"
Then all you would have to do is press 1 on the numberpad and you will speak it.
You can change the names of the aliases above to something more descriptive, but be sure to use that new name in your bind statements and don't change the stuff in the quotes or it won't work.
This script works great on mine and friends machines, but I am not responsible for any damage these scripts do to your machine.. Just covering myself

It's sort of confusing, the last part of the instructions, it doesn't really work.
If you want to say "Get out of my way" you would type in the console:
bind kp-end "say *58"
Then when you press the number 1 on the keypad, you will say it. Get it? If you want only your team to hear it, you would type in "teamsay *58" instead of just "say *58"
I also found a list of the keys that are not as common, and and what you would type in the console to get them to work properly:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Tab bind tab <command>
Enter bind enter <command>
space bind space <command>
single quote ' bind ' <command>
hyphen - bind - <command>
forward slash / bind / <command>
zero 0 bind 0 <command>
one 1 bind 1 <command>
two 2 bind 2 <command>
three 3 bind 3 <command>
four 4 bind 4 <command>
five 5 bind 5 <command> six 6 bind 6 <command>
seven 7 bind 7 <command>
eight 8 bind 8 <command>
nine 9 bind 9 <command>
semicolon ; bind semicolon <command>
equals = bind = <command>
left bracket [ bind [ <command>
backslash \ bind \ <command>
right bracket ] bind ] <command>
comma , bind , <command>
period . bind . <command>

function 9 F9 bind f9 <command>
function 10 F10 bind f10 <command>

I have my pagedown key bound with:
bind pgdn "say Hello, I will be killing you now...." so when I quietly sneak up on an unsuspecting enemy who has his back turned to me,
I press my page down key and then kill him.
So the text on the screen looks like this:
Wiseblood: Hello, I will be killing you now.....
XXXXX was just killed by Wiseblood
It looks cool if it works, gets a few laughs and pisses off the guy you killed

Yeah there are those voice commands.
If you wanted to bind one of them to your alt key, for example, you would type in the console:
bind alt "say *14" and press enter.
You would then say "Squad, attack right flank" when you pressed your alt key.
