Default the cost of driving - 02-20-2003, 10:09 AM

Im wondering what it costs to drive in other countries? Gas here just went up but I have to believe its cheaper than out of the US, its $1.66 a gallon here in Detroit. Insurance is about $950 a yaer and we dont have any toll roads. I heard on the radio that the tolls in London are out of this world, is that true? Can you afford to drive? whats it cost?

We don't have any tolls in Wisconsin, but where I live gas prices are hovering around the $1.75 range. As for insurance, I pay $730/yr full coverage for a '98 GMC Sierra extended cab 4x4. It sucks.....

The IRS says the average cost of driving is 36 cents a mile. This includes gas, maintenance/wear and tear. This does not reflect the cost of the vehicle. Obviously this is only an average.

I'm looking at trading it in for a newer one, but I have to get the windshield fixed along with my door handle. Can't wait though, the new one are sweet.

I live in Canada. I can drive here at the age of 16 wich is pretty damn soon ^_^ so if you come to Canda WATCH OUT!! nah jk. Gas here is $0.69 wich can go up to $0.73. Insurance will cost me $1025 a year and i am not even the main drive of the vehicle. Just as a comparison my gf is an occasional driver under their new 2003 mustang and she is only paying $500 a year, pretty fair eh?

73 cents? that's nothing compared to taxes for gas in the US. Prices here hit 1.60 easily here in new york.

That is harsh! In Europe the prices for gas are insane. In germany to fill up your car will cost 100 Euros easy.

Cheapest gas in Staten Island, NY is $1.65, most is about $2.21. These reasons are why I visit jersey for $1.35 gas. biggrin:

I am pretty sure the canuck price is liters. Whats the conversion? gallon = 2.5 liters, 3.0? That makes it rather expensive.
