<---- Old skool DF player biggrin:
That was also my first ever FPS , got DF2 which sucked and then DF:LW which was alright but considering I played them all on a PII 64mb ram with bog standard 3D acceleration card which sucked oh and had a 56k on AOL
* shudders * but still loved DF and I was quite good at it if I might say so myself :P joined a clan if I remember we were called -cri- Crazy Retarded Idiots and our biggest acheivement was 3rd in the TDM DF european league (something like that) which was nice biggrin:

DF1 was very good, the gfx WERE ahead of it time. But they used the same shit engine 2 years later, by than it was old. DF3's engine was the same with better textures, as was task force dagger. Now BHDs engine is good,(as u can see from my sig) and ill probably buy this one

DF land warrior sucked. Only the first and second were worth anything.

Ive never played DF1 but i have DF2 and love playing online. i still do. my friend gave me the game in 2000 and we were playing online all night over the summer holidays (he lives in wales)
I still play it, and even though the game itself is pretty crap, the online play is fun - even with the many many cheaters.
I loved the game so much i rushed out and bought landwarrior. it was great and online play was good. i liked being a medic. but everyone i play has braodband now, and i cant keep up. so i stick with df2.
I want BHD but my pc wont handle it, and i wont bother with FD as it sounds shit.
I may just have to go an get DF1 for the hell of it. only about £5 these days.

I tried the 1st and 2nd one and thought it was cool. The whole "Guard the briefcase" scenario was funny to me.
Actually though, when you said DF, I thought you were referring to Dark Forces, the first person shooter by Lucasarts. This came out in 1995 and used the Doom II engine! heh If you've ever played this, you were a fan of DF96! lol
