Yes boys and girls its time once again to point and laugh at ea's utter lack of attention to detail.

Medal of honor:rising sun coming out for the xbox\gcn\ps2 later this year and already it looks kinda crappy. Ive watched the ign videos and had to laugh as one of the deisngers says "we now use the fog to hide enemies in the distance" well duuh as far as i can recall thats one of the main purposes for having fog in a game, ea apparrently just realised this and had to tell the gaming press who were in attendance to pour scorn over eala's latest offering.

The videos start off looking ok untill you realise the mistakes that are already in abundance.

The japanese apparrently didn't have a name for their hand grenade so eala have nicely named it the "jpn grenade". However if they took 2 seconds to search google they would have found it was in reality called the "type 97 hand grenade" ([url:77713]http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-weapons/enemy-jap_ww2.htm[/url:77713]). For future reference this new naming system will come into effect for all forthcoming medal of honor games, if a german uses an mp-40 it will be called "german smg" if an american solider used a springfield 03 it will be called "amer sniper rifle" and so on.

Another thing you notice in the video of the sniping sections is that for some reason everyone has an "Unertl" scope on their springfields, that is everyone except you. You have a crappy little weaver 2x scope while your teammates use their 4-8x unertl scopes. Speaking of the scope it seems that eala think it magically floated above the rifle while being attached to only one of the mounting sections of the 03 rifle as seen here.

Also i must point out that it was popular misconception that the springfield 1903-a4 rifle could only hold a 5 round stripper clip, apparrently the ones used in the pacific could hold 7 rounds and judging by the speed of your team-mates shots were not bolt action at all but rather semi-automatic. Nice job eala.

Now we all remember the bitching when we heard allied assault would have no blood but eala takes this one step further. Instead of the dust system every japanese soldier is equipped with several bags of flour attached all over his body, when you finally kill him (which seemingly takes 2 direct headshots from the springfield 03) you will see a mass explosion of white flour go flying everywhere, this has the added advantage of getting into his comrades eyes blinding them and leaving them vulnerable to your crap sniping skills.

Another interesting twist is the addition of a flame thrower. Havn't seen it in action but im sure it will be the usual you can burn just about every enemy, but when it comes to setting fire to a straw hut it will be magically impervious to the flames. Ea have a policy of no blood in their games but in this installment of medal of honor it is seemingly ok for the enemy to be able to bayonet you, and its ok for you to set them on fire, but when it comes to blood thats a big "no no". Anyone see the oOo: in this ?

Another great thing is the sound effects, can we say "same old shite"?. The springfield uses the same sound as used in frontline and allied assault only now it echo's a bit more. The japanese t-100 submachine gun uses the same fireing and reloading sounds as used by the thompson submachinegun in frontline. Oh and i forgot to mention the "silenced pistol" is yet again included in the game. oOo:

Should make for an interesting christmas anyway.

"EA SPORTS"

they should stick to what theyre good at.......and perfect the sports games.
