okay, I have been having a problem lately with any 3d game with awesome graphics [like RtCW and MoHAA] I get in teh game, and play for 5-10 minutes and it freezes, and I have to do a cold reboot. I don't get why this happens and maybe some of you could help. My systems specs are as follows -

AMD Athlon XP 1700 [which is about 1.43ghz]
Windows XP Professional Edition [maybe this is it]
256mb SD Ram
40gig Harddrive
K5S7A from ECS [SiS chipset]
Geforce 2 MX 100/200 64mb

thats most of it... now when I go check my Systems Event Log after it freezes it sayz [for when it freezes]

Source: VSS
Description: Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040206.

now that has only been there once, and the rest off the time it freezes, it doesn't log it.

The computer only seemes to freeze when playing a 3d accelorated game, after about 5 minutes, although on the rare occassion, it will freeze on the startup of the game. This leads me to believe it has something to do with my vidcard, but thruthfully I have no Idea.

I have all the latest drivers, and my temperature runs around 40-46°C when stationary...

now I can't open up my case, to check things out or it will void my warentee which kind of sucks, but for some reason I feel that there may be no thermal cooling gel/glue ontop of the amd chip to keep it cool.

If any of you have some suggestions about what I could do to fix this, post em here and it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
