How many more of these Ally weapons are better than Axis weapons' threads are we going to see?

The Mauser is a very powerful gun if used correctly and by a good player. Does it compare to the Garand? Who cares, it all depends who uses the guns.

Mauser is way cooler too. It will be my weapon of choice as soon as I upgrade my pc.

even though the bolt-action mauser pales in comparison to the garand, the mp 40 bests the thompson and stg 44 bests the BAR even though the stg is an assault rifle and didnt appear till late '44. The ak-47 was based primarily on the stg.

The Gwer was a rare experimental type weapon that was only issued to a few German paratroop companies on the Eastern front.

I think the idea of counter acting a weapon is stupid. In WWII the americans had their weapons, and so did the germans. What it all comes down to is leadership and teamwork. People have come on my server and it would be me on allies, with 4 others, then axis with 5 people. WHen I was playing, all the axis had the bolt action riffle, and us ailles had thompsons and bar's. WE got our asses kicked because they worked together, and would cover eachother, and it was really fun to watch.

ANd thats how it was in WWII. IF you want all weapons to be the same, go play CS or TFC or something.

I like the mauser. I feel it is more challenging to use but feels great when you pick someone off. But I love the M-1.

If they do servers with set weapons ratio they should definately allow more MP40s than mausers as that would be realistic since the Schmisser machine pistols were as common M-1s by D-Day. And it would balance things out a bit.

For every ten german weapons I would have something like:

2 Mauswers

4 MP40s

2 Sniper rifles

1 "machine gun"

1 panzer faust

for the allies I would have

4 M-1s

2 Thompsons

2 BARs

1 Sniper rifel

1 bazooka

if it was possible to change the distribution based on the specific scenerio than I would give the attacking side two "machine guns" and the defending side two snipers.

Germans needed a weapon to counter the effect that the garand and the carbine had.. its semi automatic capabilities outdid the mauser 98k by far and the gewehr 43(which in its turn was a successor to the gewehr 41) was developed and issued to large nrs of troops. I hope the developers of mohaa do not forget to include this rifle, since the weapon balance is not quite fair. http://www.gssw.de/g43.htm

The choice of the Sturmgewehr 44 as a machinegun has surprised me to say the least. It looks like they have copied the idea straight from Dod? The Stg44 was an ASSAULT rifle, not a machinegun such as the BAR, and besides that not at all common in france '44.

Of course, the counterpart of the BAR is the FG42, originally issued to german paratroopers, a light machinegun with a 20 round box...... why did they miss this obvious weapon for their game??? http://www.fg42.net/

Who knows really maybe 2015 are big stg44 fans, only 2015 and EA really know. But as most ppl would say is you really cant use MOH as a history lesson. Also since this isnt a mod like DOD where weapon requests are taken more seriously (carbine and german hmgs comming in beta2) I dont see any changes taking place with the current weapon set.

I remember some clammoring for the fg42 at the beginning of DOD as well. It seems like a pretty rare weapon.

The problem with trying to balance a MP FPS around German and American WW2 units is the basic differences in the makup of these units. In the American army the BAR was there to support the rifle squad. While in the German Army the Squad was there to support the machinegunners, (mg34, mg42). Trying to get this historically correct and balanced for a game that should be fun is hard. It will be interesting to see how having the mg34 and 42 in DOD will affect its gameplay. As for MoH the stg44 seems to be a compromise.

Yeah, the Axis Mauser 98k is definitely no match for the Allied M1 Garand. Finding an Axis player who uses a Mauser 98k on a server is a RARE sighting, at least for me.

But 2015 has already decided on these choices, so the chances of this changing are probably less than 2% I'm afraid.

The Allies have a better rocket launcher as well, since the Bazooka doesn't have that annoying viewfinder on it unlike the Axis Panzerschreck. Well in real life the Panzerschreck would be easier to use, but since you have a targetting cursor in this game and limited visibility, the viewfinder on the Panzer makes it even harder to see.

Ah well. Allies won the war, heh.
