Default Tool to Auto Restart Server - 04-21-2003, 09:21 AM

Occassionally, my 2.15 Spearhead server will crash (i.e. it will close itself). Does anyone know of a tool or utility that will automatically restart the server?

As far as I know, RCON is your best bet, with the console. Unless someone else is more famuliar with this.

Clarification - When it crashes, it closes (i.e. MOH is no longer running). I'm looking for some type of program to fix this. This started with 2.15.

You need a script that monitor's your MOH.exe. once if see's it's not running it restarts it automatically.

This will only work on your box. if you rent a box from a game server provider. More then likely they will not let you run a 3rd party app.

good luck

Thanks for the links. It is my own server (desktop). I have a 10Mb connection and can support 24 peeps.

I'll have to fiddle as that program in the second link, you can only enter an EXE. So, I haven't been able to get it to work. That means you can't call the properies commands, such as +SERVER.CFG, etc.

The only other option is to start the MOH.exe as a service, then use windowns to monitor it and restart it when it crashes or is "killed" via the console.

Related question....

There is this program which can be started:

moh_spearhead_server.exe

Is there a way to have it automatically load a file or settings. I tried a few things, but no luck...

It is "interesting" that you can launch it and it starts some kind of server.
