Default Spearhead Pain Animation Patch. - 05-12-2003, 09:57 PM

Well well well. Is everyone enjoying the exciting pain animations in Spearhead? The nice flailing of the arms and scooting on the rump. Well, don't get too cozy with those animations. I have finally found a way to rid all of us of those demons. I have successfully gotten rid of every single odd-end animation that Spearhead is using. Thats right. No more buttscoots and no more psychotic episodes when you get hurt. Since screenshots wouldn't really show anything, I am just going to release it to the public. Not now. mwuhahha. I will release this patch sometime tomorrow afternoon - evening, after I have fully tested it out. This is a server-side only patch, so only admins need it.

I will create a new thread tomorrow with the patch link in it.

Thanks for your time.

Well, it seems like EA has succeeded. Patches being released by the public, to fix bugs/glitches in the game.

Thumbs up for EA, oOo:

Nice job MPowell!

Excellent, providing this works it would almost give me reason to play Spearhead. Now all we need to do is redesign all those custom maps so they are playable and then I'm there.

LOL, you're absolutely right.

Let's hope many servers install this 'patch', I'll at least give Spearhead another try then. But I don't think that, for example, 'Unterseite' will be much fun, even without butt-scoot...

Small update before I release later.

I can confirm now, that the crazy animations are gone. 1 small bug is still rearing its face though. If you are injured while holding either a rifle, allied smg, or BAR, you see the person walk instead of run. Then when they stop getting hurt they go back into the run animation. Its a very small bug, but the people who tested it out with me say that it is nothing in comparison to the default animations.

Now, I am off to class. When I get back, I'll wrap it up and release it. Thanks.

Another update :

The file was uploaded to the Stripes Spearhead clan server. I did not have the mod installed clientside so I could see if infact it was server-side. People were getting injured, either by getting bashed shot or falling, and they did not make a twitch. When falling they just landing normally. From what I can see, this patch is ready to go.

Check ya later.
