Default Experienced players help! Server Prob. - 06-11-2003, 04:25 AM

I have a question! Is there an oppurtunity or in some way a sollution that you can make ur own permanent servers without paying for it. I just wondered because i heard some people talk about a free server, but i didn't knew if it is possible that u can host a free server.

Yeah ppz, i know u can set up a new host by ip, setting up at the multiplayer screen "new game" but this server is non permanent.

Hoping to hear from some ppz soon.

tnx

You can setup a dedicated server at home. Your problem will be bandwidth.

If this computer is on a cable / DSL modem then your only going to be able to host 4-6 people.

If your on dial up, then forget about it.

Just check off dedicated server in the MP setup screen or launch MOH via the dedicated server .exe

Or if you have a top of the line machine, you could run the dedicated server from that, just leave it on, and on cable u may be able to have around 14 people with no lag. (Note you can't play on the computer your running the server on, you'd have to play from another pc)

I host a Spearhead server, on the weekends, that has 8 public and 1 private slot. I have played with 8 people on (6 internet and 2 lan) and didn't suffer from lag. I don't think I would try to have anymore on my connection though.
