OMG Samething happens to me and takes me out of my game while playing. Its very annoying. But I found that I press ctrl alt delete and close all the programs that are uneeded and the popup shit goes away. Its usually spyware or something that came with a program that made that happen.

Get a pic of "your ctrl alt delete" if you would.

yeah, same thing happens to me. My computer also just randomly slows down to a point where it gets unbearable, even when i have no programs running at all. Ive scanned for all the bad crap, and deleted all of it a la adaware. But it still happens occasionally.

Clean out your damn computers. Use spybot, it's free, to get rid of all the spyware and addware. Then, clean out your registry with the cleaner of your choice. Next, make sure your hard drive is defragged often if you are constantly installing/uninstalling software. Now, when you say your computer is slowing down when running video or games, then it could be as simple as you needing a newer card. You need to always post your system specs when you ask an IT question, or you will get no positive answers.

What hollywood said ^^ or a fresh windows install. It sounds like your system may be cluttered.

What OS are you using?? I can give you specific directions that will allow you to stop programs from loading at start-up. That will help you with performance so you don't have all these un-needed programs running.

Please post your system specifications as well so we can make better assumptions on what your problem is.

I use Spybot, Ad-aware, Swat-it, Regcleaner and Rambooster amongst other ones

I defrag quite often, delete useless things, yadda yadda
Your comp needs to be maintained and looked after otherwise two eyes on stalks pop out of the floppy disk drive and your work/play area starts getting slimey due to your computer being more slug-like everyday

I still, however, have an option to visit "HARDCORE MOVIES!!!" on my right click menu on the desktop tho.... Not sure how to get that off

good luck

is defragmenting a hard drive dangerous at all to the information you keep on it, like could it destroy it?
