Default "Realistic" my ass........ - 07-01-2003, 12:59 AM

lol okay... It's been a while since I have posted on the forums again .. But I must address an issue that has bugged the F@&% out of me..

I download new mods and such that claim "OHH BOY REALISTIC SOUNDS"!!
And they couldn't be further from the truth.. I'll give an example..

I Downloaded different sound mods for new "realistic thompson and SMG sounds".. only to find its all whacked..
When reloading, and I hear the bolt retract and then slam forward I cringe.... hake:

For those who have NO clue.. THE M1A1 THOMPSON AND THE MP40 ARE BLOWBACK WEAPONS AND FIRE FROM AN OPEN BOLT.

An OPEN bolt means:

When a magazine is inserted and the bolt is retracted to the rear, it stays open by the sear. On the bolt face itself is a "Fixed" firing pin. The weapons have NO hammer that falls to engage a firing pin to set off the primer..

The way these guns work, are when the trigger is pulled the sear drops and then letting the bolt slam home stripping off the round from the magazine and into the chamber.. and hitting the primer thus discharging the round.. When the trigger is released, the sear comes up and stops the bolt from slamming home again.... C'mon even the default reload sound of the Thompson that EA made is correct.

If your going to make a "Realistic" sound mod.. Please do some research before you put a label on the mod like that...

Thanks and That's my $0.02

the only people that make any kind of mod with the word realism in it rarely have actually fired/seen the weapon themselves. pretty pathetic. the last "realism" soundpack i downloaded for dod was just a shitty moh ripoff

KevO.. I know you're not talking to me.....

How is he ass kissing??? Strik0r is totally correct... ppl think they are "know it alls" But infact, they have NO or VERY little experiance with firearms..And claim they do just to contradict them selves when they make a false "realistic" mod.. It seems they try to get more ppl to download their mods by stating Flase facts..

Don't get me wrong, there are a LOT of good MOds out there and also a whole hell of a lot more that are completey wrong...
