Moving On... -
08-18-2003, 02:11 PM
After about a year or so of not even bothering with these forums, I finally decieded to come back to see what's up after hearing all of the put downs alliedassault.com has recieved, and I can clearly see why...
If you don't know my for my lack of posting in these forums, I'm "Ponte" on the callofduty.org forums. Why did I switch to those forums?
Simple...Call of Duty:
a. Is a more realistic, more authentic, more COMMUNITY SUPPORTED (That's right, Infinity Ward ACTUALLY browses the forums and answer questions. Hell, they've answered many of mine, and EA has never...EVER answered anyone's as far as I know). Did I mention the graphics kick the shit out of Allied Assault?
b. Has a better community. Period. We are not flaming, political hounds, that have nothing better to do than to log onto forums and degrade people, such as what many of you fools are doing on this forum.
I'd suggest the good people make the swtich. As for alliedassault.com...hell, it's statin' the obvious to say that even though the forums are shit, the website will fall in a matter of time. I mean let's face it, mods will get tired of running the site, and once Call of Duty comes out, EA loses money (thank you oh lord), and EVERYONE switches over to that wonderful WWII experience we know as "Call of Duty".
It was good. It really was. It's funny how many of you demand respect because you call yourselves "Forum Vets" just because you got here when Spearhead came out, and you have over 3,000 posts...Let me tell you something. I've been here before half of you pompous bastards. I've been here when the times were good, and the community was friendly.
I remember when Recycled Spooge was in all his glory, and BallisticWookie was the cream of the crop when it came to kindness.
It's sad really, to see such a great community get infested by immagrints from Counter-Strike.
Lets get to clans. Probabally THE MOST skilled clans in gaming come from Allied Assault. No question there. Then there are the military clans. It's funny really, because I am the acting C.O. of my clan, which is designated as E Co. 506 101st AB. Oh no! Not another one of those!
It truly sickens me when I see "Easy Company" clans, that don't even assign a regiment. Hell, those people probabally have NO CLUE what the 506th Parachute Regiment is, and think there is only 1 E co. Anyway, to clear this up, I think I'm pretty deserving of the title. As a WWII Airborne re-enactor, currently attatched to D/506, I have researched E/506 in EVERY aspect, not just "Major Winters" and all his glory. No...I'm talking about the forgotten heroes, such as Forrest Guth, who was never portrayed in the series. (And I STILL think Frank John Hughes looks more like the real Forrest Guth than Bill Guarnere!). Anyhoot, because of age limit, the E/506 that I have been invited to join when I become 21 was activated June 6, 1985.
Wow...I just got off in a rant that had nothing to do with the forums...please excuse that. biggrin:
So, where does this leave me...Well, it leaves me with turning in my jump wings for Medal of Honor and any forum/expansion that has to do with it. I guess you could say that I'm more pre-occupied with polishing my jump wings for Call of Duty.
So farewell. Many of you are probabally on callofduty.org forums as we speak. I will tell you this. I know the head mod who practically runs the site, and I will tell you...callofduty.org will NEVER...EVER be reduced to the foul shit alliedassault.com has been turned into. The mods will not allow it. Nor will they uphold some form of tyranny by banning or kicking members that disagree with their opinions, whether it be political, religious, of with a game. This happens on alliedassault.com ALL THE TIME, and the offical Day of Defeat forums I dare say more often. And that is a fact.
Currahee! And God bless those that deserve blessing...you know who you are.

Wow man, I haven't seen you in a LONG time. Well, welcome back. With the recent changes made by BadScript, hopefully we can do something to better this site and prepare it for Breakthrough.

Evidently, you have never seen the best Half-Life Death-Match clans.
The very best MOH:AA clan would cream their pants if they watched a [CWA] match back in the day. They'd then leave the league and cry about aimbots.
