All he needs to do is delete every post and every member with 0 posts before Feb 21st, 2002, then reindex and optimize the SQL database. It will run better just by doing that. Give it time, he's taking care of it.

joe, have you even tried to delete anything before? zoner tried a prune, the forum was down for 2 hours. deleting a single post takes it down for 5 minutes. the database is 350 fucking megs.

No, no. Not through phpBB. BadScript actually has to login to a terminal session of the SQL server, and he can hand delete a bunch of messages/people at once. All he needs to do is shut down the forums again, so no one can access them while he does this, then put in the selected dates he wants posts/people deleted from. It takes about 5 minutes to delete all those posts. It's much faster than the phpBB delete. Besides, when you delete from phpBB, it still keeps the post in the database, which is why we see alot of those "This post does not exist" msgs.
