Game keeps locking up on second mission

On the second mission after I blow up the two Flak 88 cannons I run up the hill and then the game performs an illegal operation.

My specs are

1.4GHz Atlon
512MB Ram
Elsa GeForce MX400 64MB w/ 27.10's
Direct X 8.1
Windows 2000 pro w/ all windows updates

I also had the detanator 23.11's and it did the same thing. I have tried different settings in the game and reinstalled any drivers that I thought could be a problem. I'm not sure what else to do. Anyone hear of this or know a fix? Thanks.
