Sept. 11th, a sad day for more than the US.. -
09-13-2003, 02:37 PM
Three days ago, Swedens (our cry: ) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anna Lindh, got stabbed in a public mall in the middle of Stockholm, by an unidentified perpetrator, who still has not been caught. The doctors said that the wounds were not lifethreatening, but still severe. Two days ago, Sept. 11th 05:29 GMT+1, Anna died of her wounds. The perpetrator has still not been found, and there are no major leads to him.
This is the second death of an important Swedish politician in 18 years (the other one was the murder of our Prime Minister, Olof Palme the year 1985).
None of them have been solved so far, which i think says a lot about the Swedish police, especially the homicide. We have not only lost one of our most important politicians, but also our face towards the rest of the world.
The same day she died, another perpetrator, a "copycat", slaughtered a 5 year old girl at the playground on her daycare center. He had walked out of his insane asylum (?), and walked the 500 meters to the daycare center, stepped in on the playground, picked up the girl and stabbed her 5 times in the back with a knife.
Thats all i can come to think off right now, please post any thoughts on this..

Yeah, The Leafs hotel was right beside it 10 minutes away. Sundin, a local hero, is really sad about it all.
I don't know why this shit happens.

Uhm.. That townhall shootout i know nothing about, you might ave meant the mall bombing in Finland last year.
And yes, this is wuite big here in Europe.
Almost all the prime ministers and foreign ministers of Europe expressed their condolences to the Swedish nation.
First page news in countries like England and so on.
George W. Bush and Colin Powell held a speach each about it aswell.
Im still surprised that none of you had heard of it. hake:
This murder came very inconvenient, since our nation is going to an election tomorrow, wether we should join the EEG or not. Anna Lindh was one of the biggest yes-sayers. so one can only hope that there will eb no voting out of sympathy.

Just read the papers, and it seems that the police have a leak to the press..
Appearently they already know who the murder is, and is searching all over for him. They had found some camera that had caught him about 3 mins before he attacked her, and now theyve got people calling in about the same man, so they got his name, his adress, his phonenumber, etc. etc.
Hopefully they wont fail this time.. hake:
