Try going to [url:ceca4]http://www.gamefaqs.com[/url:ceca4] and search for spearhead. Theres probably a faq on there that tells you how to earn medals.

being there. forgot to mention that I also have gone to gamefaqs but unfortunately, there is only one faq; and no mentions of medals unlike the AA faq on gamefaqs.

So my help request is still on. Someone knows anything about this?

sorry gentlemen, planet medal of honor does NOT give any walkthrough regarding Spearhead, much less specifice details on how to get those elusive medals.

Yes a web search engine sounds like a good idea, until you realise that you only need one answer, and not 5000.

Well...so once more. Help needed to figure out how to obtain the medals in SH single player campaign.

Well, seeing as Spearhead reached such a small audience in the big scheme of things the chances are no one bothered to create a walk-through for obtaining all the medals (And I tried looking via google, but in my experience if the first page doesn't yield your answer, the entire list of 4k won't either). I managed to find a walkthrough for SH, just nothing mentioned about medals.

You're just out of luck on this one, unless someone here has personally gotten all the medals.

From what I've read you get medals from keeping all your fellow soldiers alive and also (if it's like MOH:AA) from completing surpluss missions that aren't obvious to the eye.

Other than that you're on your own, soldier. And, this is personal opinion but, why is it so important that you get all the medals - So important that you have to cheat to do it?

You'd not deserve them anyway biggrin:

I suppose the answer to the question in the topic header would be "You earn them by playing the game very well". As for a difinitive list... Can't help, sorry.

cheating is a subjective matter. How can I earn a medal if I don't even know what to do? Or perhaps using console commands to enable god mode while experimenting through the 3 missions in an effort to earn medals is considered legitimate cause at least in this case, I figured out the puzzle by myself? At least I can tell myself that I did it without resorting to console cheats, and for me, that is winning with pride. Oh well, over dumb AI, not much to brag about anyway.

I am not looking simply to complete my collection of medals-more the method to acquiring them. Also, I have other things to do besides playing games. Finding a faq on this subject is a way of saving time.

and yeah, I figured out that SH's single player mode is really unpopular, for obvious reasons. I think that most ppl bought SH for the multiplayer enhancements. Which is why I posted here asking for help, knowing that the mundane means (gamefaqs, search engines) have proved futile. In this, I agree that my task to uncover the medals isn't going to be easy.

In AA, when you complete any difficulty level, you get a medal too. I wonder if this is the same with SH?

SH has 6 medals. For each of the 3 missions you complete, you get one medal; for one tour of duty you complete you get an additional medal. So it is quite likely that you do get all 6 medals by just simply beating the game on all 3 difficulty levels. This is theory of course. Haven't really proven it yet.

Well I did read somewhere that keeping all your men alive yields a medal - You could try that. It'd be a challenge at any rate.

Spearhead Single player was actually good just way to short. Also one of the reason to find out how to earn all the medals sometimes leads to little extras in the game like sniper mission in AA where after I actually managed to get all those dumbass bots through that level alive you got that Medic Bob sequence pops up and he comes after you like a blood hound with a rocket.

I believe the first 3 medals are for completing the sp mission on each level.

In Mission 2, I successfully got all 3 men of my squad out alive on Normal. The tricky part is, which part counts toward the scoring for a medal? If it is the first part in the snow fields, accomplished that. But during the second part where you get to escort the truck and protect it, do they have a health meter as well? And um, no I didn't get any special medal. Just one for clearing the entire mission.

If we were to discuss Mission 1 with regards to keeping squad mates alive, I clearly have no idea what to do. For one thing, other than the Captain, your SAS teammates will die as you progress.

I too thought that the first row of medals would be awarded when you complete special missions. But this theory is flawed when we take into consideration that the first row, second medal is awarded for completing a tour of duty.

Well from one review I read, SH lags on a Geforce 3 ti500 with a 1.5Ghz CPU. This was clearly mis-represented by their "recommended" statistics. Granted the graphics are really improved over AA (albeit slightly), still the single player campaign feels like an excellent fan mod.

I paid for it and expect longer missions like AA. I can understand that fan mods are done by ppl with a regular job, a family and friends and of course expectations have to be resonable. SH, on the other hand, is a professional product that we shell out $$ for. Is the short length of SH single player justifiable for a purchase? imho, NO. Cause I don't play mulitplayer FPS.

[quote:bc957]"bahamut"]Is the short length of SH single player justifiable for a purchase? imho, NO. Cause I don't play mulitplayer FPS.[/quote:bc957] You're not missing much. For the only time in my entire gaming history online the SP game out-shone the MP mode in Spearhead.

Although it's short, the SP is actually quite a lot of fun and quite atmospheric. Nothing ground-breaking, but fun.

The MP is a travesty.

No other game that I've played holds that dubious accolade.
