you can actualy tell by the sloping of the tail and tail-fin, but I bet the guy was scared shitless until flipper actually popped up and did the blowhole thing biggrin:

I wrote up the same response, but didnt post it because some other items were bothering me. The head is huge. It looks too big for a dolphin and the tail is obscured enough that you cant tell. It seems a bit on the large side for a dolphin too, but the dorsail is a dead give away.
I have been that close to a dolphin, and they may be cute and all, but it still scares ya.

I lived in Florida for several years , Panama City Beach to be exact.
I would see dolphins and sharks all the time , sometimes rays too.
The sharks don't attack you , if you get in there way they just sort of bump you with there nose.
The dolphins will run along the side of your boat and jump out of the water.
