On al lot of MOH aa sites (forums) people (players) have avatars at the end of their posts that have a link to a part of the German troops of which a lot of memebers took part in genocide during WWII.
Do the people with the SS-sign with totenkopf-sign or with sentences like "Mein Ehre heisst Treue" (even misspelled) or any other signs linked to the SS, know what they are doing?

Do they know what the SS did during the war? And if they know do they still want to use these signs on the forums?

In my opinion these people/avatars/signs should be banned.

should we delete all of the swastikas and SS uniforms from the game as well, maybe we should ban all history about WWII then we can all forget the horror the Nazis caused... I personally will never forget, if you cant seperate a game from real life then thats what you should worry about... If you dont like these symbols and such, why not try NOT going to those forums, or playing the games which allude to WWII, i doubt Harry Potter will offend you, or is magic bad too???

Come on who gives a crap if people use SS names. There are people in here with names like Jesus Christ. It may piss you off but one the beautiful things about freedom, people can make that choice. Considering that's what WWII was all about, freedom, I think you should rethink telling people not to do something like that. Because it isn't gonna get you anywhere in this day and age.

The legitimate use of signs and symbols depends on its functionality.
In other words: a swastika may be used if it is functional to the game. Which it often is because it underlines the game's authenticity.

In multiplayer you can choose from a lot of German soldiers, of which 2 are SS men. For me this is over the edge of tolerance. Why?
Because here we start not only to use characters but also to identify with them, glorify them and make them heroes.
The game's designers have gone to far here.
But it is possible for me to play a game in which there are some mistakes in taste or design.

Same accounts for avatars and homepages of clans. Signs are not just being used and shown as part of the world's history. SS troops are identified with in a positive way, they are made heroes and glorified.
But in fact, a lot of them were murderers, not soldiers.

it depends on what view you look at it from. Yes, the SS were bad and cruel but to the germans they were elite soldiers, because they were considered elite, clans mimmick the name. The game has multiple SS skins because it is trying to be realistic

Stop complaining about something that isn't such a big deal, it's better to have clans named SS and remember the SS than forget it.

Waffen SS was also the first real elite soldiers armed with firearms.
The only once i know of, before the SS, is Caesars Praetorians.
Hence, the SS should not only be looked upon as thiefs, murderers and what so ever, but also as a well trained and well organised unit.
They have a great military value, BUT as you all have stated by now, they did loads of things that cannot be forgiven.
Nonetheless, they have stated an example in the military world aswell.
Many units of today use the same tactics as the SS used, the same trainings as the SS used and so on.
I cannot see why they should not add the greatest f*cking warriors of history in the game or not be allowed to talk about them?

Jibberish, i know..

First off, I have Jewish family, I am Jewish, and Ive had a lot of my past realtives who died in concentration camps. I have no problem if theres a player wearing the swastika just as long as he/she isnt a acuall Nazi then yes Id have a HUGE problem. Not being allowed to wear a SS symbol in the game would be like not being able to ever wear a Rebel flag which most ppl now dont take it as a racist symbol but rather a rbelious symbol. Any WWII symbol that is in the game is realistic, I want a realistic game not a game that doesnt allow symbols and icons, its the same thing as when battle reinacters reinact a WWII battle, someone has to be the Nazis and they always try to make it look real.

I am also a bit concerned about all the people who seem to idolize SS units, they're a little oOo: in the head.

Well not all of them, the [5w-SS] clan for example is a great clan and theres not one (thats still in the clan) whos wack in the head. They just chose to represent an axis side because of so many ally based clans, you cant have allies vs. allies, someones got to represent the axis and [5w-SS] has represented it in a good way.

Now as for [9thSS]........

How would 90% of the little fucktarded disrespectful kids we have growing up today even remember the war veterans or even be interested in what they did without movies and games ? We should be thanking, not sueing. As for the SS insignia BS, Mind you The SS was not only a Excuetion type Force for the camps but was also a elite fornt line fighting force (Waffen any one ?). Your whole arguement is pointless. I also say never forget what they did. History tends to repeat itself and bite you in the ass when you stop looking.

Done.

I completely agree with you. I think i am the only kid in my grade who actually knows anything about WW2. Kids these days are the most ignorant people. Like in my school, like all school, we say the pledge of allegeance(sp?) and more then half the kids dont bother to stand up and recite it. It pisses me off, i just wanna punch em in the face.
