Default Alexander. The trailer is finally here - 05-27-2004, 12:51 AM

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/alexander/large.html

I cant really see if this would be good. The trailer was somehow too "vague" but I'll watch it anyway since its about a man who conquered half the known world.

Yeah, I liked hearing about Alexanders conquests in history class, but every class I had, the teacher spent the least amount of time on battle as he possible could. I want to see Guagamela, it was supposed to be especially ferocious and the odds were stacked against him.

Colin Farrel? I hope he doesn't mess up the movie.

The trailer looks pretty good though.

Looks okay so far. Better than King Arthur, at least.

Imagine somebody mentioning Troy in that film and Bradd Pitt suddenly pops up as a ghostly spirit and says
"Alexander...ALEXANDER...Use the force"

I found this on some site ....

"Summary:
Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great (Farrell) led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia, Alexander led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, and finally made his way east to India. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate, Hephaistion (Leto). Alexander died young, of illness, at 33. Alexander's conquests paved the way for the spread of Greek culture (facilitating the spread of Christianity centuries later), and removed many of the obstacles that might have prevented the expansion of the Roman Empire. In other words, the world we know today might never have been if not for Alexander's bloody, yet unifying, conquest. "

I've been interested in the Alexander the Great story since 1986...when I first listened to the Iron Maiden tune of the same name. biggrin:

I actually answered an essay question correctly on a test based on the knowledge I gathered from the song...heh heh.
