do any of you ?

i ve been working with files at 300 resolution @ 8.5 x 11 and its a wicked pain in the ass to edit since the processing time is quite a bit more than working with 72 resolution ... is there anyway to help this and speed up the proc time?

Not really, unfortunately. Better hardware would seem to be the only remedy.

I've designed some graphics for print that were 300dpi and they did take a while to load in and deal with due to their huge dimensions.

RAM actually does help substantially

i jumped from 256 PC2100 to 1024 PC3200 overclocked

its not instant still, but it does speed up.

Ive worked with that resolution before on iMacs...and it was speedy...but when I try on my PC...its sluggish as well...definatly get more RAM though...that will help a lot.

I regularly do 4x6 and larger pieces at 300 dpi at work on a really old and crappy PC. It's bad, but I manage. There's no need to use anything higher than 72 for web graphics though.
