i get the idea but i'd go black and white myself , dull the font by fading it into the source a little and softening the edges of the font very little to match the softness of the image.

Maybe tilt your name a little and fade the white text alot. Slightly fade both the year and your name.

just set the transparency of the font down a bit and it will suit fine.
