Right on, Totenkopf. The bazooka has such a slow reload and is so useless in a close firefight, all one needs to do is evade the first shot to nab an easy kill. Once they fire off that first shot, you have a good window of time in which to teach your opponent a quick lesson in "don't you dare shoot at me."

'Course, used right the bazooka can help a team. Too bad few people use them to maximum effect.

the problem with rockets, for me, is when 3/4 of their team uses them, and when they run through corridors at point blank range firing when you turn the corner and theyre in your face. there should be some kind of penalty for suicide

While personally I'd like to see the 'zookas and 'fausts used for what they were made for (anti-tank), I know that there aren't any maps involving tanks and that people will use them if they're available regardless.

My only gripe is getting shot with one point blank or somehwat close to that and the guy who shot me wasn't killed by the splash damage himself.

I never had a problem dealing with a bazooka. To me, they are easy kills. People who complain about them usually have no skill. I,for one, hardly use rockets; too boring for me. Some maps, they can be useful. To each his own...

Um...there is a penalty for suicide. You lose a point. Whenever I see a guy with a bazooka, I just run up right to him. So if he shoots the thing, he might kill me, but he'll kill himself too.

I think anything used out of moderation can make the game less fun. When everyone is a sniper on Omaha beach it just kills the game. Either the axis are all snipers and the allies never make it up the beach, or the allies are all snipers and nobody ever comes up to try to complete the objective. Either way, it's less fun for everyone, except maybe one or two snipers that enjoy it somehow.

dont flatter yourself, if you found me (or any competent guy) with a shotgun in a building in southern france, you could try and run but would be on the floor sucking carpet in 1 second. and if i had a bazooka and im at full health, youll be dead, and ill have around 58 health.

battle tactics and adapting sounds nice and all but its not always realistic if the enemy is semi-competent. ill take note when people successfully run away from me when i have a shotgun, after being pointblank

He's just a crybaby. Don't listen to him. That's what makes the game fun. It's not like its hard to take out someone with a rocket reloding takes forever. I don't have a problem with rocket's. All I have to do is strafe and shoot and bam!! I win with out crying about it.

Simple solution: Limit Rockets to 1 per every 15 players on a team; 2-3 Snipers on a team; 2 Shotgunners per team.

It's funny to watch them running and jumping around like a chicken with their head cut off while they reload as you close in for the frag.

Actually, it's cause most people that use rockets use them like they are 9. I have no problem with rockets, but I do hate the idiots that use them at point blank like it's a shotgun. Those people are what make people hate rockets. Plus, the rocket does get bad at times. It's too damn frustrating, especially when the whole team uses them.

i agree with that, when they use a rl like a shotgun, that shits me.
yeah they kill me but the also kill themselves in the process so why do it?
but as has been said, ou just have to adapt and overcome.
plus rocket spammers are easy prey.

How about this......

We change the rockets so that each time they're shot, the equivalent of an artillary / mortar round (like on the Omaha beach) goes off behind them? A little "back splash" for their team mates to win them the MVP prize?

Of course, in this world of unintended consequences, if we made this change we might end up with a game full of rocket dweebs running backwards and shooting their "butt" mortars.

Ok, I know this has been discussed here before, but I still don’t get it. I just finished a DM game where a poor guy kept complaining about my using the bazooka. Went something like, “ Mother Fucking rockets fucking cheaters!” every time I killed him. I don’t understand this reaction. He wouldn’t respond to my asking him about it. And he finally left the game the last time I killed him. Hell, I didn’t want that!

Are guy’s like this pissed off because they feel they can’t compete with alternate weapons? Does it kill the “realism” for them? What is it? To me it would become a boring game rather quickly if everyone were forced to use say, a Thompson or whatever. Personally I think those who complain along these lines have difficulty adapting to the situation. Hey, if you use a shotgun against me, I’ll back up and kill ya. If you use rocket launcher I’ll run like hell at ya and kill ya. If you use a machine gun, I’ll snipe ya. This is what makes the game fun for me. The variety of it.

Hey, I aint complainin’, I just don’t wanna kill the fun for someone else while still having fun myself, playing the way I like. And I don’t cheat, that kills it for me.

I’m open to some constructive criticizing here, but I’ll just ignore any flame wars.
