Default Quake 4 + Quakewars - 06-01-2005, 07:19 PM
Quakewars, due out sometime next year, online game with the marines vs the enemy from the quake2\4 games the "strogg". Seems to be a bf1942 kinda game using the doom 3 engine. And yes these are ingame screens not prerendered bullshit *coughkillzone2onps3cough*.

Quake 4, continuing on from quake 2, marines assaulting the strogg homeworld. Another game using the doom 3 engine, due out later this year. Check out the trailer (official e3 trailer lnk).

On a side note, I really don't like the Doom 3 Engine, I don't enjoy how it trys to cover up it's obviously low poly models with bump maps galore, but at the same time the textures look like wet paint running off the surface.

The engine has to render low res textures because the textures have 2 or 3 layers to them. If they were high res textures a 512mb graphics card would be a necessity to play the game at any decent detail level.
