I believe the White house has refused to acknowledge a link between emissions and rising temperatures. Their one of the few countries on the planet to do this, if i'm not mistaken, and one of the few to not sign on to Kyoto.

Edit:

Just watching "The Hour" and they were talking about this story, and they had David Suzuki on who is a prominent Canadian environmentalist, and he eluded to the fact that it has become apparent that the position the US took on Kyoto was influenced by Exxon.

Read the story here:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/climatechange ... 46,00.html

He also said that since Russia has ratified Kyoto, there are only 2 industrialized countries in the world who haven't signed it. US and Australia. Now that Russia has signed, Kyoto is now international law.

I respect Dr. Suzuki very much. He is great to hear speek. If you ever get a chance, listen to him. He's got a lot to say.

The closest thing we have to a popular enviromentalist is Angelina Jolie and thats only because she waters her plants on a daily basis.

so what are we supposed to do? Stop manufacturing the worlds goods? Stop building cars? Stop driving and walk everywhere? Stop being the most industrialized country in the world? Its easy to be on the outside and look in and suggest things but in reality the suggestions wont work. Just tree huggers looking for a soap box plzdie:

thats not what I am saying, bring a realistic solition to the table. Just bitching about emisions isnt enough. We need a solution. There is no way people will start walking miles and miles to work, no way they will buy an elephant to ride to work. Give me something real, something that will work. You cant compare the emisions the US puts out to any other counrty, ita apples and oranges. We produce more goods so we will also produce more harmful emisions. Alternative fuels is a joke, it will never work. It is a great idea but it is not a realistic solution.

What are you talking about stackem?

Hydrogen fuel is the future. Munich Airport has the first Hydrogen fuel station and BMW has introduced its first liquid hydrogen car.

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/pres ... 16915.html

90% of our universe is made of hydrogen.

Hydrogen fuel cells are not fuel, they are a method of storing and transfering energy. They are not energy themselves. You need another source of energy for creating the hydrogen fuel cell. Thus you need gas. Thus hydrogen doesn't work.

Stackem:

What I believe is that corporation have a responsibility to it's community, citizens and country to do everything in its power to reduce the amount of emissions, reduce waste and other environmentally practices. We all know this doesn't happen. Then factor in the Government don't doing anything like putting regulations on pollution like other countries have, there is no accountability for the corporations.
