Im finally going to get a camera, but there are so many to choose from. Any recommendations? I want a slim one I can keep in my pocket cause i want to carry it around with me w/o drawinga attention and having a robust object around my neck or bulging in my pocket.

this camera is on sale and with additional coupons, i got it down to a good price of $389.25. It seems to be a sweet camera and a nice deal, but it looks a little big.

i know the size of the camera is something most wouldnt consider, especially for the amount of money it costs and the logical choice of picking a digicam for its quality, but I really want to find one i can slip in and out of my pocket.

Aside from the mega pixel rating, whats a good zoom? Im not going to do any professional shots or any photography. I just wanna camera i can take with me and get a shot of me, friends, my ass to post here and some hot chicks and places i go to.

I need the camera by August 3rd otherwise i would have just called my friend at Sony and gotten one there but it takes forever to do an employee purchase. The brand isnt really a big thing for me, but its got to be reliable.

if you're just using the camera as a "point and shoot" camera you don't need anything more than 5mp in my opinion.

As for the zoom in your purposes, 3x optical zoom is totally fine.

It doesn't have a ton of settings or anything, but it's very small and reliable.

I put it in my pocket and have no problem with it. But since you said you want something very comfortable to put away, you might want to hold it in your hand before you make your decision.

Canon has some tiny cameras that has relatively good image quality, better than Sony, IMO.

The PowerShot SD series are slim and light. I recommend the SD300 or the SD20, best bang for the buck. But SD200 is significantly cheaper.

the sony brand is my baby...i could never turn my back on them. I've been happy with their products on every purchase (My dad, brother, cousin, and I all bought sonys that give great pictures). Just like shoe brands, I think it's up to the person that will ultimately choose what's best for themselves.

the powershot g6 is an awesome fucking camera, but if you want a small compact point and shoot get a nikon coolpix.

in terms of megapixels, as coleman said anything above 5 isnt necessary unless your blowing them up on a constant basis, stick around 3.5-5

yeah, those are nice as well. I'd suggest that as another option. My friend has one and loves it.

Ive got a CoolPix 4800 and it works just fine. The quality is not great but good, its pretty cheap and its got quite a few handy options.

my friend has a coolpix 5100 and it takes some good photos. i have a few samples if you want, just pm me and ill host them.

ive become very familiar with the Canon Powershot A75 camera. It goes for about 300-400 bucks and is very user friendly

Sonys are good, but I think they are overpriced. Also, don't they use their own proprietary type of memory that costs more than other memory?

I dont know much about camera's, but if you plan to get a cheap brand, avoid Minolta. Its broken down twice on us already, and now we're waiting for it to come back from the repair shop.

Then again, its not all too slim, so I guess you can just ignore that.

are you thinking about Memory Stick PRO's?
