I don't even know how moshing evolved to this punching and kicking shit. It really takes all the fun out of a concert. I've moshed in my day where you basically pushed and ran around just for being pumped up, but getting a fist the jaw is my thought of a great concert. Hell, I've gotten my nose busted at a concert and the dude that did it apoligized, these kids are just retarded.

Yeah, I musta missed the memo that said that moshing now involved spinning heel kicks. eek:
Bounce off you buddies, run around like an idiot, headbang until your neck feels like a rubber band...this is what I know as "moshing".

i personally think moshing is stupid. if i dance, i'll skank. to hardcore i just stand there and watch the band. most mosh pits are friendly though, and they arent meant to knock the shit out of people. hey, whatever floats their boat.

this all started when metalcore emerged. you generally had the Hessians (grits, headbangers, mullet freaks) bouncing off each other etc, the skins kicking people that fell on the ground and then the white belt wearing, NB shoe preppy hardcore kids doing kung fu in the pit. It seemed to coincide with the emergence of Victory as a "big label" when the only bands they had worth a shit were Integrity and All Out War. Earth Crisis shows were chock full of this shit. Ive been going to "shows" since the mid 80's and this has got to be the gayest shit yet....Now im to old for the pit....shit i remeber when skanking and circle skipping, stage diving were all that you did back in the 80's (punk shows im talking about here and i had the legendary DC scene to see shows at old 930 club>all....Chambers in Bmore....Marble Bar...

I actually prefer to label this 'hardcore dancing' instead of Moshing. I grew up in the local scene here when the kids would really mosh, and not look like spastic handicap retards throwing various shadow boxing karate moves.
The funny thing about these "pits" is that they do this shit, but when they actually hit each other, fights erupt. The past few shows I've been to, the mosh squads, kids who where simliar gear like bandanas, all start hardcore dancing aggresively and hit other people who aren't in the pit or even on the outter rim and then the dancers get punched in the face and a whole big shit storm starts.
oh yeah p.s. I don't know how those kids expect to be hardcore dancing in their sisters pants....
