I call for the removal of the UN from US territory. Find another safe and free country to host the League of Nations, ... wait the UN (Same thing - They both failed, the UN is just taking longer to come appart)

Do you know how many peace keeping missions they are incharge of around the world ? How much aid and releif this organization hands out ? The league of nations was NOTHING like the UN.

yes it is, in the fact that the UN is starting to lose its power and reputation and heading the same way as the LoN.

anyway,

I think it's funny that the UN pussyfoots around issues in other places because it's afraid to offend anyone or be politically incorrect yet they outright demand something like this from the US. Anyway, I don't like the idea of torturing people in Gitmo. I think people should be valued, however, I also think that National Security is very important and that torturing some people will make us safer. Therefore my stance is that people have to be genuinely involved with obvious terrorist links before staying at Hotel Gitmo, none of that guessing stuff, they have to be credibly linked.

How the hell can you compare the League of nations to the UN ? No Seriously.. There is no fucking comparision.

1. Was a bunch of Post Imperialistic Nations on a council which had next to no funding, No standing armed forces, and no peace keeping missions or Releifs efforts of any kind.

2. The UN is a multi National organization with Numerous Peace keeping missions, Numerous Releif Efforts. (such as handing out food, rebuilding war torn areas, and disarming mines.). Not to mention they have resolved Numerous issues from around the world.... Not 100 percent succesfully.... BUT nothing is perfect.

apparently to some members on this board, if it doesnt have US interests at the forefront, then it isnt worth keeping.

Hasn't it been proven that torture doesn't work anyways? Their was a number of Canadian Muslims who were flown to Syria with U.S support..They are cleared from doing nothing wrong, but when they were tortured they told the Syrians what they wanted to hear, so they wouldn't be beaten to a pulp. Isn't this the case with alot of the torture that detainees go through? They will tell them what they want to hear, to stop the torture, thus giving them false information.

fuck the UN they can KMA. The UN is nothing without the United States of America, we are the funding, the teeth and the backbone of the UN. I am so disappointed with the lackluster UN Id love to see the US pull out of and send them packing

great, then we can go back to wars and genocide to solve the worlds problem. i forgot that the US has a huge standing army of millions and that we never, ever, need anyone else's help because we have an endless supply of troops to enforce our will.

when has the UN helped us with troops?

when the UN deploys troops what percentage of the men are from the US?

what percent of funding does the UN get from the US compared to other countries?

where does the UN set up shop (tax free)?

in the begining it was good now it is a joke!

thats the whole point of the UN...it is there to prevent and mediate international crisis and to assist nations who dont have a stable economy, govt and military. When was the last time we DECLARED war? we dont need the UN to supply us with troops, but other nations do need their support. That was the point of my argument - its selfish to simply withdraw from the UN just because it doesnt agree with us or provide us with stuff we dont need. What do you want from the UN?
