meh, its the only game, except Oblivion soon, that I've played for a long time so I'm gonna splash out on this booster i suppose.
I've been eating too much junk food of late and this download will cost me the same as a big unhealthy snack, so thats 1 less for me.
http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/ ... nload4.jsp
Its either 325 or 370Mb in size. $9.99...
I'll post my opinion plus screens soon..

i bought SF and EF yesterday. I like the new vehicles and maps and weapons in EF. and yes gerv, they do have a strange euro voice.
The only thing I didn't like was that the localizations are all messed up. I'll take a SS later to show you what i mean.

Seen this quote related to infantry combat on total bf2.
[quote:f1998]I see plenty of teamwork with 64 player servers. Especially on Great Wall where everyone is fighting on the tops of the walls in close combat. That's where DICE really tests your skill.[/quote:f1998]
Yeah gotta say hammering the prone button is a great test of skill. oOo:

That map is fun. There are lots of squads that get up on the top of the walls and duke it out. I was commanding last time I played so I would just hammer down on top of the wall with artillery. It was pretty fun. Gerv, the bunny hopping and jump-prone stuff is not as big as a problem as you make it seem. Most people just go prone to have more accuracy once they see someone and to keep from getting shot.

Not as big of a problem? Since i bought bf2 on its release ive probably yet to see more than a handful of people not diving prone to open fire at someone. Its even worse now that the pkm is dubbed "the meatgrinder" servers are whored up with people using that no end.

you can't hit anything at any sort of distance unless you are prone...

Far as im aware proning barely increases the accuacey in bf2, games like dod it does but bf2 is more arcadey. For pkm and simailr mg's i can understand proning, but for every weapon it gets to be a bit of a yawnfest.

well then there's the fact that it makes you harder to hit as well because you can't dodge in a gunfight like you could in mohaa because when you move and shoot in BF2 your bullets go every which way so otherwise you would just have to stand there and if you ask me, i'd rather go prone than just stand there when someone shoots at me.

Therein is the problem, people do this shit in closeup gun fights as well and for some fucked up reason it works. To me it seems theres some kind of glitch in the proning animation, ive lost count of the times ive unloaded half a mag into someone whos diving prone and it seems to do nothing, more or less like the shots are going straight through them.
If that the case then its just some lame exploit people are whoring. ive no problem people doing it at range where you'd expect them to do it but the inclose crap is just boring as all fuck.
