contacts, glasses, or lasik? -
04-01-2006, 03:04 AM
i currently wear glasses but before summer arrives, im gonna switch over to contacts hopefully. I'd love to get lasik but it's still pretty high. When it first came out it was $1000/per eye but now i've seen it advertised at $399/per eye. So im wondering, how is it wearing contacts? Is it more convienient for the average person? Do you see just as well with them in as you would with glasses? And phinally', is it true they'll get stuck in your eye if you fall asleep with them in.. cry: ?

Daily contacts.
If you sleep in them, they dry out a little and are a little tougher to get out.
Decent Lasik is like $3000 around here. $399/eye = beware of Dr. Nick Riviera. My wife had it like 3 years ago and went from 20/450 to 20/20 and 20/15. Definitely worth it if you have the means.

I had glasses, went to contacts and found them to be a pain getting in. So I stopped using both. I'll never go back to glasses now. Its only my left eye that is blurry anyway so I can see fine with both eyes open.

I have astigmatism, so contacts are out of the question. Since my correction is only -1 (only for reading and shit) on both eyes and it's either the operation or glasses, I'll go with glasses...

i wear contacts and i barely change them out (which is really stupid actually) you should take them out when you sleep but most of the time i forget, you also cant rub your eyes at all while there in cause you rub them out and then your screwed...i would definetly keep your glasses around too though cause its nice to not have to fuck around with putting in contacts every so often
